Dutch designer Iris van Herpen
I have been a fan of Iris designs ever since she started her label in 2007 (at the age of only 23) And i’m not alone, she won several of impressing awards for her collections. Her latest collection ‘Micro’ is exceptional, one of her best collections in my opinion! Her structured garments are pieces of art, but at the same time very wearable (well, not for grocery shopping but...

Ice Disco
For the first time in 15 years the canals of Amsterdam were frozen. Fun! It looked beautiful, altough also a bit weird if you’re used to the canalboats passing by :)
Last friday some guys threw a disco party on the ice and a whopping 1500 people showed up.There was music, soup and even a lifeguard for safety (who is probably in bed with pneumonia now…)
ps. Great video
Working girl
Sorry for my blogging absence this week!
As you might know I work as a exhibition designer when I’m not blogging and things have been quite hectic for me. Today is a bit more relaxing, I’m deciding colours for the displays (which is one of the fun bits to do!) These are some pictures of exhibitions I worked on last year.
This afternoon I am going to relax. It has been freezing in...

Helicopter necklace
I get very nostalgic when I see a maple leaf seed. When I was at elementary school we used to have a maple tree on the playground and we would put the sticky maple leaf seads on our nose and run around like a crazy herd of rhinoceros. The boys would use them as helicopters. Good times!! Joline Jolink, a very talented Dutch fashion designer made these necklaces in silver and gold.

I am a big porcelain fan (yes I am aware of how nerdy that sounds, thankyou…) and especially when it comes to pots and vases. I can’t get over these beautiful ones by Claire Verkoyen. I love everything about them, the shapes, the colours and the decorations. Her vases are a hommage to certain decades in history and are influenced by different cultures.

Breaking down the house
In my street, and the street behind my house the housing corporation that ownes most houses (thank god not mine!) is busy with upgrading their property. In stead of renovating the more than 100 year old homes they decided to just break the houses down to rebuild something new. This morning I was drinking coffee, looking at the demolishers throwing out panel doors, hammering through...

For this christmas I have fled Holland to celebrate with my aunt who lives in a beatiful medieval farm in Wales UK. It is actually the perfect place to celebrate christmas.
