Every week Dutch Delights introduces a fellow blogger, or designer to share their five favourite Dutch things regarding art, design and lifestyle. Please meet Maike!
Maike from the website MoodKids started developing an eye for childrens design ever since she became a Mom. She however noticed that there wasn’t much attention for the subject. Together with graphic designer Eefje Kleiweg she founded MoodKids, where they blog everyday, send out online an online magazine and even founded a publishing company. Maike also has a personal lifestyle blog, Orange Farmhouse. Enjoy Maike’s top five!:

1. I am a big fan of Dutch design. Even more so if it has a function. Great when something has a good design, but even better if it turns out to be useful as well. De Domoor (which I’m drinking out of in the first picture) and Leaves by designer Richard Hutten are my two favourite objects from the NgispeN collection.
2. The jewels by Marije Geursen are a great example of Dutch design with a twist. Marry me! Imagine it on your table! Of course preferably with one of Marije’s designs inside.

3. When my daughters will be attending school I am going to fill their lunchboxes with the work of foodie Marije Vogelzang. The creative way she handles food is really special. Her book ‘Het Broodtrommelboek’ (The Lunchboxbook) is genius. Most people think we Dutch people don’t have a very impressive culinairy culture, but hey… They obviously haven’t met Marije yet.

4. Cool and robust, this Ipad holder by Stoerrr decorates my kitchen worktop. Unintentionally while holding a cookingbook, because my daughter ‘stole’ my Ipad, but anyhow… Beautiful!
5. Since I received a litho by Hans Innemee as a gift years ago, my heart races when I come across his work. Extraordinary simple. I love it.
